Overall she was very caring and completely opposite than the doctor at Pioneer Family Doctor who seemed like she just wanted me in and out since it was almost the end of the day for her. I will never return there and will let everyone I know about my experience if they are thinking about going here.
I was able to book a same day appointment. Since I was a new patient I got there about 30 mins earlier it was dead. The staff was super unprofessional. Determined to make me sit there an wait until my appointment time even though no body was there. I went in for flu like symptoms. She swabbed my throat even though I didn't complain of any type of sore throat. The nurse swabbed it. The doctor came it told me just a virus. But noticed my throat was res but that's because The nurse swabbed it so hard and so long it's been a day my throat still hurts. It feels so sore I can barely eat. I won't be back. Wouldn't recommend his place.
I was searching for a doctor who could see me same day since my primary didn't have anything available for over a week (This was a Wednesday). They got me in at 415pm and the atmosphere felt a little off, a little unprofessional, the ladies up front were chatting amongst themselves, even talking about the doctor's pickiness on certain things, but I thought no big deal. I got in and saw the doctor, told her I might have strep, my son had gotten it 4 days before and my throat was hurting a lot. She looked at it and said it was obviously infected and she was going to prescribe a Z pack. I asked if she needed to do a strep test and she said "your insurance (BCBS) doesn't cover anything so if I do the test it's going to cost you another $25 but honestly it's infected so I'm going to just put you on the same antibiotic either way- so do you want the test?" So I said no, kinda felt dumb for asking. It was $100 for the visit. I got my prescription and started taking it that night. Missed work Thursday, thought I'd be back Friday but I got worse, and worse, my tonsils got so swollen, red and covered in pus pockets, I could not even drink water. I forced myself to take the medicine and could barely eat at all. On Sunday I woke up with my eyes blood red and went to an urgent care place (I didn't want to go there in the first place because I was afraid it would be so expensive) they only charged me $20 for the visit, everyone was super nice and compassionate. The doctor did a strep test and a mono test which both came back negative so she did a throat swab and sent it to the lab to see what it was. They gave me two steroid shots to help with the pain and inflammation in my throat, prescribed me clindamycin which covers a more broad range of infections and am antibacterial eye drop to get rid of the eye infection. The shots helped so much I was actually able to eat Sunday night and drink enough water that I didn't feel dehydrated anymore.
