This experience was a nightmare. We have buried 8 family members over the past 15 years and have never had anything but professional and caring staff at any other establishment. Not only were they unprofessional at Bean Massey Burge- they were untrained in the business and unable to support the family in basic communication. We were called from a funeral home in East Texas about the due arrival of the body that was supposed to go to Grand Prairie. I got a call from a Waco Funeral Home asking about embalming the body while I was on the road to Bean Massey. First she is heading to East Texas, then she is in Waco- and the first contact I have is to get an ok to embalm in a town 2 hours away from her destination? Then, when I'm upset and confused---I finally get a call from Bean Massey Burge from a gentleman who says that he is just calling to let me know she will be sent to Grand Prairie, but he isn't our coordinator...so we'll have to talk to Ms. Ruiz when we get there. WOW..such compassion and seamless communication? They had problems with the picture and didn't realize it until an hour before the obituary deadline. Ms. Ruiz was uncaring and short with the family. She kept leaving us in the conference room and going out- we spend over 2 hrs just waiting and getting curt answers to our questions. Brad Masters was unavailable and unable to get his staff coordinated for simple things like delivery of the flowers. The boutineers for the pall bearers were fragile and wilted- we were unable to use them. The staff wore sunglasses in the chapel. The thank you cards and memory book were mailed to us- first time they weren't ready when we left the funeral. When I asked for them---she was rude and said they were always mailed and we'd get them in a week. When they arrived, All of them were pall bearer's card. When I called, they acted like I was lying and wanted me to give the incorrect ones to the affiliate who was to redo and deliver them.. The representative from the affiliate was embarrassed and didn't want them. I gave her 100 pall bearers cards and asked to confirm the error. The death certificate was incorrect and we could not get it back. On Nov 2, they told us it was to be here within 6 weeks. The first one took 3 weeks. An affiliate funeral home manager called for us and was not allowed to talk with the manager in late December when they had still not arrived. At that time I learned that Mr. Masters did not replace the cards that they had provided for us in the name of Bean Massey. They are inconsiderate to all they work with. Ms. Ruiz, the rude associate that we were forced to work with , told her it was processed. We have probate date for January 22. Our lawyer contacted Mr. Masters on January 14th and was told it was ordered on Nov 12 and could take 12 weeks? Our attorney contacted the State--IT WAS NEVER EVEN ORDERED. We have used Dignity affiliates for 5 funerals. The company needs to find a professional and caring staff for this funeral home. The building is beautiful but that doesn't represent what is inside. Beware.

Do not use this joke of a funeral home. My friend's mom services were there and they did an awful job. This is not the same Bean-Massey-Burge of the old days. It is under the microscope of a big corporation known as SCI and they do not care, what so ever. Use Ben F. Browns in Irving or Guerrero-Dean in downtown Grand Prairie. But stay away from anything corporately owned. They do not embalm there they send them off to a care-center or I would say a meat factory and under paid embalmers who are already burned out destroy your loved ones body. They are Godless, heartless, chumps.
